District Goals

DCEP08 Goal Number 1

Priority 1 Goal

By June 26, 2026, by providing targeted professional development on the Science of Reading, MTSS and high quality instructional materials that include culturally responsive texts, there will be a 5% increase in the percentage of: ALL students performing at/above benchmark levels from 39% to 44% in grades K-2,Students with Disabilities (SWD) students performing at/above benchmark levels from 22% to 27%, English Language Learner (ELL) students performing at/above benchmark levels from 13% to 18%, Black studentsperforming at/above benchmark levels from 39% to 44%, Students in Temporary Housing students performing at/above benchmark levels from 20.7% to 25.7%, AND a 5% reduction of: ALL students performing at well below benchmark level from 49% to 44%, Students with Disabilities (SWD) students performing at well below and below benchmark level from 67% to 62%, English Language Learner (ELL)students performing at well below and below benchmark level from 78% to 73%, Black students performing at well below and below benchmark level from 47% to 42%, Students in Temporary Housing students performing at well below and below benchmark level from 79.3% to 74.3% as measured by the Acadience2025-2026 EOY Benchmark AND a 5% increase in the percentage of ALL students performing between levels 2-5 (blue color band) from 12.9% to 17.9% in PreK AND a 5% reduction of students performing at “not yet” from 64.5% to 59.5% as measured by the 2026 TSG Checkpoint 3, indicator 16b (identifies letter sound correspondence).

Priority 2 Goal

By June, 2026, physical and mental wellness for all students in grades 6-12,will improve by 5% in the total number of favorable answers, from 60% to 65%, on questions #1 and #2 of the Student-to Student Trust component of 2025-2026NYC School Survey.

Priority 3 Goal

District 8 will address Priority 3: All students have a high-quality academic experience with the following SMART Goal: By June, 2026,the Student progress will be monitored by NYC Math Screener (BOY,MOY, EOY) results. will Increase by The anticipated increase for Proficiency is 5% (from 50% to 55%) and a 5% reduction in Level 1students (from 23% to 18%). from Proficiency for students in grades 3-8 is 50% while Level one for students in grades 3-8 is 29%. to The expectation is that 55% of our students in grades 3-8 are proficient as measured by the 2026 NYS Math Exam while 18% of our students in grades 3-8 are Level 1 as measured by the 2026 NYS Math Exam., for All Students, as measured by By June 26, 2026, there will be a 5%increase in the percentage of students in grades 3-8 performing at the proficiency level from 45% to 50% as measured by the 2026 NYSED Math Exam and a 5% decrease in the percentage of students in grades3-8 performing at level 1 from 23% to 18% as measured by the 2026 NYSED Math Exam.

Priority 4 Goal

Priority 4: All students By June, 2026, the Percentage of active BB1 NYC Kids Rise College Savings Accounts for All Students will Increase by 10% from 48.6% to 58.6% as measured by Power Bi.

Priority 5 Goal

By June, 2026, parent participation and engagement in events aimed at teaching the links between healthy nutritional habits and academic outcomes will increase by 30 participants, as evidenced by attendance sheets.

Attendance Goal

By June, 2026, the Year to date attendance for All Students will
increase by 1.8%, from 89.2% to 91%, as measured by the Insight.

DCEP08 Goal Number 2

Priority 1 Goal

By June 2026, by providing targeted professional development on the Science of Reading, MTSS and High quality instructional materials that include culturally responsive texts, there will be a 5% increase in the percentage of ALL students performing at proficiency levels from 33% to 38%, Students with Disabilities (SWD) students performing at proficiency levels from 12% to 17%, English Language Learner (ELL) students performing at proficiency levels from 4% to 9%, Black students performing at proficiency levels from 30% to 35%,and Students in Temporary Housing performing at proficiency levels from 35.5% to 40.5% AND a 5% reduction of ALL students performing at level 1 from 39% to 34%, Students with Disabilities (SWD) students performing at level 1 from 66% to 61%, English Language Learner (ELL) students performing at level 1 from 82% to 77%, Black students performing at level 1 from 43% to 38%, and Students in Temporary Housing performing below proficiency from 64.5% to 59.5% in grades 3-8 as measured by the 2026 EOY ELA screener.

Priority 2 Goal

By June, 2026, the total number of suspensions for all students will decrease by 20, from 344 suspensions to 324, as measured by data from the 2025-2026 Climate Dashboard.

Priority 3 Goal

By June 26, 2026, for D8 grades K-8, there will be a 5% increase in the percentage of MLL’s performing on grade level from 18% to 23% as measured by the 2026 EOY Math screener and a 5% reduction of students performing at level 1 from 44% to 39% as measured by the2026 EOY Math screener as well as a 5% increase in the percentage of SWD performing on grade level from 18% to 23% as measured by the2026 EOY Math screener and a 5% reduction of students performing at level 1 from 45% to 40% as measured by the 2026 EOY Math screener.

Priority 4 Goal

Priority 4: By June, 2026, the Percentage of Grades 6-12 students certified in a financial literacy module will Increase by 10% from 20% to 30% as measured by EVERFI Grades 6-12 completion/certification reports.

Priority 5 Goal

By June, 2026, The number of parents who indicate receiving beneficial information and resources on NYCPS discipline code, Promotion in Doubt and ladder of referral for support after parent workshops will Increase by 80 from 0 to 80 as measured by Parent surveys shared immediately following workshops.

Attendance Goal

By June, 2026, the Chronic Absenteeism Rate for All Students will decrease by 2.1%, from 42.1% to 40%, as measured by the Insight Chronic Absenteeism Reports.
